Learn techniques and communication tools for giving academic support within parent choice. What to do when a parent wants something educationally different then what you feel is best for the student's learning and achievement. You will learn the art of persuasion thru communication to help the parent's choice become the correct choice. If that doesn't work, then tools on how to implement the correct choice and keep the relationship with the family.

The Dashboard and Assessments Impact on Our Schools

In this session, participants will learn more details about the Dashboard and how it can affect our schools. We will go over how assessments tie into our school Dashboard and how each school is currently performing. We will talk about how opting out affects our schools under this new accountability system and how we can educate our families about the impact of the Dashboard on charter schools. We will also show you how to use the CAASPP Digital Library resources to help address areas of need for your students.

NOTE: You will need to create a Digital Library account before attending this session. Please follow the directions to do that before the meeting.
1. Navigate to the Digital Library login screen at https://www.sbdigitallibrary.org/
2. Select the green Register for the Digital Library button.
3. Enter your first name, last name, and IEM e-mail address.
4. Select the Register button.
You will get an email notification to log in and create your personal password. Bring this information with you to the meeting!
